Neighborhood Connector: APPLICATION HERE

The Folwell Neighborhood Association (FNA) is seeking a part-time independent contractor to serve as a Connector that builds relationships with residents to foster involvement with the FNA. The Neighborhood Connector will report to the FNA Board. The FNA is a non-profit, managed by a board of directors and works for the benefit and betterment of the Folwell neighborhood in Minneapolis, MN. The FNA’s hiring values include equality, community representation, and local hiring within our community, but does not disqualify candidates on these principles.

Job Expectations:

Connect with neighbors using door knocking, phone calls, house visits, events, and flyers Use Spotio database

Organize and facilitate follow ups and 1x1’s with residents

Attend weekly Connector meeting

Attend Folwell’s monthly Neighborhood Night

Help organize and host block parties

Attend Neighborhood Connector Training, six month review, and exit interview

Hours and Benefits:

Total Hours: 10 - 15 hours per week Pay: $18 per hour

Phone will be provided by the FNA Vacation time not included / Benefits not included Requirements

Proficiencies:

Must be available during evenings and weekends, or when it works to connect with the community. Enjoys working with people Passionate about building community Able to walk and climb stairs Preferred Fluent in a second language (Spanish, Hmong, or Somali) Experience: Proficient in G-Suite Comfortable with technology Organizing training preferred but not expected Experience or training in de-escalation Experience or training in mediation

Youth Coordinator - APPLICATION

The Folwell Neighborhood Association (FNA) is seeking a part-time independent contractor to serve as a Youth Coordinator that builds relationships with youth and fosters involvement with the FNA. The Youth Coordinator will report to the FNA board. The FNA is a non-profit managed by a board of directors and works for the benefit and betterment of the Folwell neighborhood in Minneapolis, MN.

Hours: 20-25/week Benefits/Vacation: Not included Start of Contract: ASAP Expiration: 05/31/2021(possibility of renewal)

Responsibilities:

Work with youth of 10-18 years of age.

Determine youth needs through community outreach

Build a strong network of support to promote long-term success through one monthly event and one recurring program.

Creates processes to continuously grow youth participation.

Facilitates, designs, and implements two youth programs over course of contract

Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the youth of the community

Creating partnerships with other community outreach organizations.

Submit for at least one grant quarterly with the aid of a youth committee

Provide quarterly update to neighborhood

Participate in weekly staff meetings

Create goals within the program

Track/document program participation through sign in sheets

Qualifications:

Must be able to pass a background check

Experience in youth programming, including development and implementation

Understanding of the social and economic circumstances that surround North Minneapolis youth

Ability to relate to youth while maintaining professional boundaries

Experience or training in deescalating/ mediation

Possess knowledge of grant writing

Passionate about building with diverse communities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Be able to operate independently and with minimal supervision

Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.

Must be available during evenings and weekends or flexible to the needs of the community.

Must be flexible to the demands of a small organization and willing to step into tasks as needed

Bilingual- bonus but not required
