Portion of Cedar Lake Parkway to close Nov. 2 through Nov. 13

Cedar Lake Parkway at the Kenilworth rail/trail crossing between Burnham Road and Xerxes Avenue will close to all traffic between Monday, Nov. 2 and Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 (weather permitting).

During this time crews from Hennepin County will replace the Kenilworth railroad tracks and the City of Minneapolis will install a new sewer pipe under the Kenilworth railroad tracks and Kenilworth trail.  City crews will also repave Cedar Lake Parkway in the project area following the rail replacement.

DETOURS

A signed detour for motorists will be in place that directs traffic to France Avenue, Lake Street and Dean Parkway.

Kenilworth trail users will be directed to Xerxes Avenue South via 28th Street West during the sewer pipe installation and paving project. A temporary sidewalk on the south side of Cedar Lake Parkway crossing will provide pedestrian access across the project area.

I-94 will close in both directions at the Lowry Tunnel at 10 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2through 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3 (weather permitting).

Motorists will be detoured around the closure via the Hennepin Avenue/Lyndale Avenue Exit.

Rain forced the rescheduling of the second night of cleaning of the Lowry Tunnel fromTuesday, Oct. 27 to Monday, Nov. 2.
